WAREHOUSE ADMINISTRATIVE TEMP

IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY

The Virginia Railway Express (VRE), a growing commuter rail operation connecting Washington, DC with Northern Virginia and surrounding counties, is in need of a long-term Temp, Monday – Friday, 5 to 7.5 hours a day. The position reports to VRE’s Warehouse located within the Crossroads Maintenance and Storage Facility in Fredericksburg, VA.  This Temp will assist in a variety of tasks and activities, with general assignments to include maintenance of files, scanning of documents, data entry, etc. Other tasks will include maintenance of spreadsheets, assistance with cycle counts, answering phones, etc.  

The individual hired for this position must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to efficiently use a computer and related software applications (Microsoft Excel and Word); have a keen attention to detail; be able to work independently, efficiently, know limits and meet deadlines. This individual must also have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record at all times during employment with VRE. For the complete job description, please see our website: www.vre.org. This temporary position pays $18.00 per hour and is authorized for a maximum of one year. The CEO has the authority to grant an extension of this time period if it’s deemed in the best interest of the organization. Part-time/Temporary employees do not receive fringe benefits.

PROJECT MANAGER – DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

Immediate Availability

The Virginia Railway Express (VRE), a growing commuter rail operation connecting Washington, DC with Northern Virginia and surrounding counties, is in need of an experienced professional who will assist in development and review of design and engineering documents pertaining to railroad, railroad facilities and station construction projects.  Functions as lead project manager for multiple projects simultaneously during the design and construction phases. 

Work experience in a transit operating environment and familiarity with VRE is highly desired.  A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required, with a minimum of eight (8) years of design and/or construction experience and at least two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory or project lead capacity.  Must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Must be able to work flexible hours demanded by a transit operation environment. OmniRide is seeking a professional to fill the position of Project Manager, Data and Analysis

The Project Manager is responsible for identifying, collecting and analyzing data for various purposes to include, but not limited to, National Transit Data (NTD) submission, planning and modifying transportation services and organizational key performance indicators.  The Project Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive reports and dashboards for the purpose of reporting to internal and external audiences.  Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:  analyzing data using statistical methods with the purpose of understanding or drawing conclusions from the data in order to drive operational decision-making and developing statistical models that depict trends, managing the collection and tabulation of data used for federal and state reporting systems and ensures reports are submitted in timely manner, developing and maintaining dashboards and comprehensive reports and incorporating tools which help to easily digest the data such as tables, graphs, images and lists, developing and maintaining trend and management reports by bus service line, time of day and service type, and assisting managers with addressing data and reporting needs for various projects.

Applicants must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, query, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.  Applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in word processing, database and spreadsheet software; knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.) is a must.

Applicants may have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, computer science or related field.  A Master’s degree preferred.  Two years’ experience in project management or related field preferred. 

Typical hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.  Starting salary range is $71,000-$95,000 depending on experience, plus attractive benefits.
