October

Thank you for another great hour of questions. If we did not get to your question, please feel free to email us at GoTrains@vre.org where we answer most inquiries within one business day.

As a reminder, October is a busy month. The Redskins begin to adopt a consistent and predictable losing streak (quoted from actual fans), kids are thinking about Trick or Treat and the leaves are beginning to fall. Keep safety in mind by watching for wet roads covered with fallen leaves, slow down and watch for children when driving through subdivisions when raked leaves begin to stack up on curbs and take a few moments to do some holiday shopping so you don't have to risk accidents or injury while rushing from store to store on December 24th.

Finally, we hope to see you at Clifton Day this Sunday, where VRE will be providing shuttle service to Clifton from Manassas, Manassas Park, Burke Centre and Rolling Road. Don't try to park in Cilfton (there is none!).

Stay Safe. If the gates are down, hold your ground!

  • David from Fredericksburg, VA asks
Any chance of increasing the number of lights on the steps down from Track 2 at Fredericksburg? In the dark, the single light is almost useless with a crowd of people going up or down the steps (the top flight is very shadowed, with the single light only at the bottom? Is there any chance of repairing the treads on the top flight, as the metal strips are coming loose?

    VRE Response
We will have our Facilities Manager look into it.

  • AREM from MANASSAS, VA asks
Will VRE put up posters concerning backpack etiquette. Passengers tend to forget that their backpacks take up the space of another person and they tend to forget that another person may be near while they are standing in line and swing their bodies around. Also, some folk put their bags on a spot on the platform and then go sit down or get out of the sun. There should not be any saving spots on the platforms.

    VRE Response
    Courtesy reminder.

  • Phil from Stafford asks
Not a question, but a pat on the back! Using the VRE is a care free commute. While there are some headaches, it is not as bad as driving solo and facing traffic problems EVERY day. Thanks VRE!!

    VRE Response
    Thanks for the compliment!

  • Latrice Ross from Manassas, VA asks
On Tuesday, October 4th I experienced the worst experience with the VRE. My train was delayed for 100 minutes. I was hesitate to travel any other means because I had validated my ticket using the mobile application before knowing about the delay. After waiting in the cold for one hour I decided to drive into work. How do I go about getting a refund? Is there a functionality where the VRE is able to alert the mobile users of delays prior to buying.

    VRE Response
Hi Latrice - Just give us a call at 703-684-1001 and we can push a courtesy ticket to you phone to replace the one you validated yesterday.

In VRE Mobile, from the Main Menu, select Trip Tools, and you will see the mobile optimized homepage of vre.org, which has all of the delay alerts on the top of the page.

  • Jack from Nokesville asks
Train 324 yesterday was delayed over 30 minutes getting into Crystal City. Had to track a conductor down on the platform and ask for a FRE. Why aren't they passing them out on the train?

    VRE Response
Conductors are tasked with handing out FRC's on-board the train. It sounds like you were able to get your FRC.

  • Mike from Woodbridge, VA asks
Hi, I am new VRE rider who uses the Fredericksburg line. I was wondering if the frequency of trains can be increased. Currently, they come every 20-40 mins. Is there any way to improve it to every 10-15 minutes? Thanks in advance...

    VRE Response
Welcome to VRE, Mike. Our two lines converge at Alexandria and then the separation is about 10-20 minutes between each train to account for VRE and other train traffic. We cannot schedule them any closer than that.

  • Dave from Manassas asks
The Manassas parking garage has several electric vehicle charging-station slots; there are also a couple on the street outside the garage.

    VRE Response
    Thanks Dave.

  • David from Fairfax, Virginia asks
What measures will VRE implement in the coming weeks to reduce the chance that service will be disrupted by the dreaded oak-leaf oil?

    VRE Response
If the weather conditions warrant, we will reverse one of the early trains on the Manassas Line, so the locomotive will be in the rear heading south.  This allows the passenger cars to clear the leaf oil to enhance the tractive effort of the locomotive. The trains following the reversed train benefit from this as well.

  • Helen from Fairfax VA asks
You are encouraging riders to use the Burke Center Station. Are you making any plans for cooperative agreements to use local parking lots and have shuttles when the station parking is no longer adequate? Also, are you planning any strategic communication efforts to remind passengers (not "customers") who will be standing on trains, like the 7:47 am Burke train that each has purchased a ride, not a seat?

    VRE Response
We are offering VRE as an alternative for some Metro riders who are affected by Orange Line Safe Track work.  Burke Centre has ample unused parking capacity to support this effort.  We will also monitor ridership on specific trains in case we need to try to influence folks to utilize a different train due to crowding.  That has not been an issue at this point.

  • Louis from Fairfax asks
Federal agencies sometimes allow employees to leave 2-3 hours early on the working day immediately before a Federal Holiday. This Friday, October 7th is one such day. Looking at the current Manassas line schedule, there do not seem to be any trains operating between about 1:30pm and 4:00pm? Does VRE offer any additional train service to help accommodate passengers who might want to leave DC and return to their point of Origin during that time?

    VRE Response
Good question Louis.  We do not have the ability to alter our schedule to accommodate situations like an early release.  We do however, move our longest trains to the earlier time slots to accommodate the heavier than normal ridership on those trains.

  • Janet from Burke, VA asks
Why are riders permitted to smoke near the stairs leading to the tracks? Everyone walking up the stairs entering or exiting the platform must walk through the smoke. I have repertory issues and walking through the smoke leave reside on my clothing and effects my ability to breath for the remainder of the day.

    VRE Response
Smoking is currently permitted on the north end of the platforms only.  Not sure which station you are referencing.

  • David from Woodbridge, VA asks
Conductors aren't checking tickets very often on Train #306, unless they checked before Woodbridge. Most days I just see a conductor walking through and counting.

    VRE Response
Thanks David, we'll pass along your comments to the train crews.  The conductors should be checking tickets in every car of every train on every trip.  Occasionally, their primary duties of operating a safe train may keep them from checking, but that should be the exception.

  • Batgirl from Woodbridge, VA asks
With the instances of terrorism cropping up around the world - is it possible to coordinate with all police jurisdictions to ensure safety. Just a thought to keep us safe. Thanks

    VRE Response
We are constantly working  with TSA/DHS, law enforcement, CSX/NS and Amtrak Police and other agencies to share information and coordinate on programs. Remember, security is a constantly evolving topic and although we remain committed - passengers are often the first line of defense. If you see something, say something! Notify local law enforcement (Amtrak Police at Union Station) if something doesn't feel right.

  • Davin from Woodbridge, VA asks
On Monday morning, why was a very long and slow moving CSX train allowed to pass the disabled train *using the track VRE uses) delaying VRE trains? It took nearly an hour for it to pass the Woodbridge Station holding up the VRE. Why couldn't CSX have held that train and let VRE trains go first? It is more important for us to get to work on time then freight to get to its destination on time.

    VRE Response
The second freight train was assisting the disabled freight train.

The freight train that was northbound ahead of the VRE trains would have been well ahead of all VRE trains and would not have caused any delay if the southbound train on the other track did not encounter mechanical issues. The northbound freight had to stop due to the southbound train's issues and pending inspection, prior to any trains passing. The northbound train crew was assisting the other train crew in remedying their problem and inspection to all trains moving. As soon as the safety inspection was complete, trains started moving.

  • Devin Banner from chesapeake virginia asks
Is a free ride certificate good for the purchased ticket that covers where I went or is it good to go anywhere on vre.

    VRE Response
You can use a free ride certificate for one ride on any VRE train going anywhere the train goes.

  • Brian from Burke, Virginia asks
How often do you survey riders? It seems to me that it is multiple times in a year. Survey fatigue has set in.

    VRE Response
Brian, we do two surveys per year.  The first is the Annual Customer Service Survey, which we admit is very lengthy, but the information and feedback we receive is very important in shaping our operation and growth plans.  We do that survey on the first Wednesday in May.

The second survey is the one we did this morning.  It is a very short, quick survey to find out where our riders travel to and from.  This one is mandated by our Master Agreement as it helps set the annual jurisdictional subsidy provided to support our operation.  This survey is always done on the first Wednesday in October.

We appreciate everyone's patience with these surveys as they are very important to our operation.

  • Andrew from Manassas asks
While I appreciate the fact that the VRE tried to get information out as fast as possible this past tuesday, the information the riders got was a bit manic. At first, we were told there was a car on the tracks, and there could be rail damage. Then we were told that there could be significant delays, and that we should find alternate modes of transportation, then 15 minutes latter, trains were moving. I was already half way down 66 in bumper to bumper traffic. Broad run is not that far from Mannassas, did the VRE not have anyone on the scene that could send back better information, as it seemed the severity flipped very rapidly.

    VRE Response
We had several people on the scene.  It was the nature of the incident which was the issue.  We passed on the best information we had, as soon as we received it, and the situation did change quickly, once the car was finally extracted from the switch and no damage was found.

  • Mike from Woodbridge, VA asks
I'm a new VRE Rider. I'd like to know why the VRE trains are not frequent. Currently, they come every 20-40 minutes. Is there any way the frequency can be improved to at least 10-15 minutes? Thanks in advance...

    VRE Response
Welcome to VRE, Mike. Our two lines converge at Alexandria and then the separation is about 10-20 minutes between each train to account for VRE and other train traffic. We cannot schedule them any closer than that.

  • Albus Dumbledore from Platform 9 3/4 asks
There was some talk a while back about adjusting the times of the Northbound trains to reflect how long it actually takes to get from Spotsy to Fredericksburg. Are you going to have the trains leave Spotsy earlier or just adjust to the "true" arrival times? And sometimes it seems like the trains are kind of loafing. Maybe if you came at it wit a quickness you wouldn't have to adjust the times.

    VRE Response
Thanks for the question, Albus.  As mentioned earlier, we will most likely be adjusting the departure time from Spotsylvania.  The scheduled departure times from Fredericksburg north should not change.  Speed is regulated by the railroads.

  • The Roo from Rippon asks
Weren't there plans to do something about the stairwell at Rippon? A few years ago, a women was nearly hit in the head by falling debris from the stairs. As I recall, someone posted the incident to the monthly forum and you replied that a project was being developed for approval. With the elevator now out of service, more people will be forced to use the stairwell. Has something been done, that we have not been made aware of, to shore up the steps?

    VRE Response
The stair treads and stair pans have all been repaired/replaced.  Steel work on the railings will be completed shortly closely followed by a new paint job, weather permitting.

  • Michael from Fredericksburg, VA asks
I have heard rumors that a pedestrian bridge will be added at the Quantico station. Do you have accurate information on the improvements that are currently in progress at this station?

    VRE Response
We do have plans for a second platform on the west side between the current track three and the new third track which is being added.  The plans call for a pedestrian bridge with elevators on each end to connect the platforms.

  • MT from Leeland asks
What is the status on the WiFi on the trains?

    VRE Response
Since a significant portion of our system still does not have the cellular coverage necessary to offer quality WiFi on the trains, we have no immediate plans to add WiFi.  If however, through the addition of other technology based services, we find a way to offer a quality product, we will do so.

  • KL from Rippon asks
Why didn't you offer the Metro option on Monday after the first train was delayed over 75 minutes and other trains started to stack up past Rippon? What is the criteria you use to determine when to offer the Metro option.

    VRE Response
Because the railroad was essentially clear north of Woodbridge, we felt the trains would move quickly enough into the District to negate the benefit of opening the Metro option.  In our follow-up discussions, however, we realized there was an opportunity missed to allow the passengers from Lorton north to utilize Metro instead of waiting.

There is no specific criteria for when the option gets opened, it is simply based on the specific circumstances of the disruption, but we will work to make that decision more quickly in the future.

  • Michael from Fredericksburg, VA asks
A couple of years ago, MARC converted several of its legacy cars into bicycle cars. Has VRE considered adding more bicycle space so commuters on the earlier trains can ride their bikes from work/home to the train station?

    VRE Response
Our issue right now is capacity, both for riders and to the store the cars. As such, we do not have immediate plans to add bicycle cars.

  • Harper Chalmers from Capac, Michigan asks
What special services/accommodations, if any, are available for visitors/tourists for short-term (one week or less) use? Thank you.

    VRE Response
Thanks for the question Harper.  We're not sure what you are specifically looking for, but please give us a call at 703-684-1001 and we'll be happy to help.

  • Eleanore from Fredericksburg, VA asks
On the early commuter trains to DC is there a specific time when the conductors can start shouting out the train stops. If I can manage it, I'll avoid the early trains where the conductor does that. The female recording is much more peaceful and allows me to sleep. The considerate conductor will start speaking usually around Alexandria or for emergency reasons. Thank you.

    VRE Response
Thanks for the comment Eleanore.  The announcements are to be made on every train.  The automated announcements should suffice, but some conductors may choose to reiterate announcements, just to make sure everyone gets to their desired destination.  Sometimes visual cues for which station the train is approaching are not evident, especially on the earliest trains when it is still dark outside, so there may be a need for more announcements.

  • John from Fredericksburg asks
Has something changed between VRE and CSX? It seems like CSX has been causing some on time issues for VRE recently by holding trains to allow CSX to pass, speed restrictions for VRE but CSX and AMTRAC (they go flying past on the other track while VRE goes 25 mph), dispatchers holding trains for orders, etc. A few years back it seemed like CSX was abusing VRE, I hope that is not going to happen again.

    VRE Response
John, as you are aware, the railroad between Richmond and DC is very busy with averages of ~75 trains (CSX, Amtrak, and VRE) a day. The dispatchers are constantly making decisions about routings in an attempt to keep train traffic moving, and minimize delays in the "overall picture". This amount of traffic requires a significant amount of maintenance requiring track maintenance personnel to occupy sections of track to perform their work (possibly adding to the congestion), which then may result in temporary speed restrictions until the work is complete. Therefore, different tracks may have different speeds at different times. Be advised that CSX, and VRE, put safety first, and put forth every effort to keep trains on time.

  • Joe from Woodbridge VA asks
A few times VRE has handed out FRC tickets to riders for being over 30 minutes late. As a monthly ticket purchaser I am unsure how those FRC tickets are useful to me. It compensates riders that ride less frequently and purchase single ride or 10 trip tickets, while it does not benefit the more regular monthly riders. I guess you (VRE management) feel that the monthly riders are less deserving of any form of compensation than the less frequent riders? I am NOT a government employee, so I actually pay 100% of my travel expense. Please come up with a way to provide something to the monthly riders or do NOT compensate anyone at all.

    VRE Response
Hi, Joe. We appreciate your loyal patronage as a monthly rider and is financially prudent to purchase a monthly ticket since it is discounted 34%. Since you do not receive transportation benefits, it also may be financially prudent to save and use them in periods where you take vacations or work out of town and do not need a full monthly and can supplement Five Day Passes or Ten Trips with the cached FRCs. Lastly, you can also place FRCs in a place where you do not carry your monthly pass in the event you forget or misplace your monthly pass to avoid the inconvenience of the summons process.

  • Andrea from Newport News, VA asks
What is the best train connection from NPN to Baltimore?Thank you.

    VRE Response
    Amtrak.

  • 313 Passenger from Fredericksburg VA asks
Trying to understand why Fredericksburg 313 which leaves Union Station at 6:00 p.m. has been arriving so late into Union Station recently. It regularly gets there 5 or so minutes before departure. When Amtrak used to be responsible for VRE trains, the 313 (then the 311) was always arriving 5 minutes before leave time, which caused the passengers to bunch around the doors in an effort to load up quickly and also to have to deal with the bad weather conditions like freezing rain, wind, etc. Once Keolis took over, the train regularly arrived 20-25 minutes before departure, giving us passengers the opportunity to shelter from the weather and also to board without a great rush, get settled, etc. I really thought Keolis was quite an improvement over Amtrak, and just wonder why all of a sudden in the last month or so, it has reverted back to how it was under Amtrak? Thank you very much for your attention.

    VRE Response
Our trains are sent down from the Amtrak Coachyard when the crew and equipment are ready, and when there is space available in the terminal.  We are not sure why any train would sit at a platform for 25 minutes, but we do try to get them to the terminal giving folks ample time to board.

  • Derek from Fredericksburg VA asks
I used to be a monthly ticket holder but now work from home mainly and ride VRE twice a week at most. The past two times I've ridden the credit card machines have not been working. This also caused me to miss an Amtrack step-up opportunity and waste a VRE validation. The conductors seemed uninterested when reporting the issue to them. VRE is slacking in service these days. What is being done to ensure the ticket machines are in full working order 365 days a year, as they are expected to be. I experienced this issue at both the spotsy and Fred stations.

    VRE Response
Thanks for the comments Derek, and we apologize for the frustration.  The ticket vending machines are serviced every day.  We have two full-time technicians who cover the network, and when there are issues, we can have those addressed usually the same day, or within 24 hours.  If you do not believe the conductors are passing on your concerns, please give us a call at 703-684-1001 and we'll send a tech out.

The ticket vending machines are all being upgraded over the next 9 months to include new card readers, new touch screens, and more up to date computers, so you should notice a big improvement.

  • Marc from Leeland asks
Why was it so important this morning on the train as we were pulling into L'Enfant that the two people collecting the survey have to go through to the head of the train? Everyone was already lined up to disembark and they all of a sudden had to be at the other end of the train. Very inconsiderate of them. I believe they could have waited until everyone had disembarked and then gone to the other end of the train. It's not like they were operating the doors for the passengers to get off.

    VRE Response
Sorry for the inconvenience Marc.  The folks assisting with the survey need time to clear all surveys from the trains without delaying the train at Union Station.  We can only assume this is what they were doing, but we'll look into it.

  • Duncan from Fairfax, VA asks
I asked a similar question a couple of months ago, and did not get what I felt was a direct answer - so I'd like to ask again in a different way: Can and Will you change the #326 and #330 Manassas Line morning run times so that they are more evenly spaced (time wise) from the trains that come before them (#324 and #328)? From my perspective as a rider, 40 and 45 minutes between trains is way too long.

    VRE Response
The departure times are backed into based on when all the trains meet at Alexandria.  That time period is particularly busy with northbound trains from both our lines and southbound Amtrak 67, and our own southbound turn train 321.  We do not have plans to adjust those times, but we will continue to monitor and explore other options.

  • Karen from Fredericksburg, va asks
Why is the temperature on the train kept so cold? Digitally monitored it yesterday and it was 64 and 62 degrees f in am and pm, respectively. This is uncomfortable for riders and lends itself to colds and flu viruses which prefer colder temperatures.

    VRE Response
As the ambient temperatures are now falling, we are currently evaluating all passenger cars climate control systems for proper operation.

  • Lee from Leeland asks
The Spotsy station has been open for almost a year now. Ever since, the morning trains are 4-5 minutes late out of Fred/Leeland everyday. Can you adjust the schedule so that the trains leave Spotsy a few minutes earlier so that the trains can depart on time down the line? Thank you.

    VRE Response
See the answer above to Dave's question.

  • Dave from 300 Express asks
The 300 Express is a very popular train for the early risers. I've heard from many other riders they would like it depart even earlier. In the future is there anyway this train could depart 10-15 earlier? This slight change would allow people to get their full work day in and be able to catch the 303 train south. This slight change could help many people.

    VRE Response
Thanks for the question Dave.  We have no near-term plans for offering a train any earlier than the current 300.  We may adjust the departure time from Spotsylvania by a few minutes because the trip time up to Fredericksburg is not quite as quick as we originally expected.  It  will not affect the arrival times in DC, though.

  • Mary Beth from Manassas asks
In regards to the painting and restriping in Broad Run, I am aware that it isn't quite done, but the compact car issue didn't seem to be fixed. Is there a reason for that, because giant SUVS are still parking invthose spots? (There are people who also park in non existant spots - as in just next to cars on asphalt - and on the white "No Parking' areas, FYI.)

    VRE Response
Ensuring the parking spaces, etc. are clearly visible is the first step. For the next step, we will ask Prince William County to enforce the parking rules.

  • James from Broad Run asks
I believe that last month you mentioned the schedules might be 'jiggled' a bit in the near future. If true, would you expect to take much of the existing slack time out of the earlier Manassas to DC trains, allowing for a more efficient trip, and perhaps even less conflict with Freddy trains from Alexandria forward? Thank you.

    VRE Response
We will most likely make adjustments to the midline station times to minimize the dwell time, but since the trains all have to merge into one line at Alexandria, the schedules for any station north of Backlick Road will not change.

  • Diane from Fredericksburg, VA asks
I ride the 300 out of Fred., when we arrive at Alexandria on the far track from the station, it is dark and there is a steep set of stairs to walk down. There is a light above the stairs on the wall, but it has been burnt out and makes navigating the stairs very tricky. Can someone please check this light and have it repaired. Thanks

    VRE Response
Will do Diane.  Thank you for the heads up.

  • Obi-Wan from kingstown,va asks
It is great for VRE and all of us riders to see ridership increase the way it has since Metro safe track began. But please be careful to not become like Metro. Don't let your standards of excelkent customer service slide, and please don't let Metro behavior infect VRE, i.e., enforce the rules for riding on VRE.

    VRE Response
    Thanks for the advise.

  • Kristin from Burke asks
How do I get a frc for the delay yesterday. I had validated my ticket on my pgone before I heard the announcement of the delay, my husband dropped me off and had to get a cab to Springfield. I didn't take a screenshot

    VRE Response
Just call our office at 703-684-1001.  We can pull your mobile account up and see you had a validated ticket yesterday.  We can then push a free ride to your phone.

  • Dave from Springfield, VA asks
What is the status of the Lorton Station improvements? What is being added and when will it be finished?

    VRE Response
The current project is to lengthen the station platform to support longer trains.  Fairfax County is also expanding the parking lot.  Weather permitting, the station platform extension will be completed on or near the first of the calendar year.

  • John from Fairfax, VA asks
Why are fare evasion waivers given only to monthly passengers? While they do pay the most - they should also be the most familiar with the rules. For non-frequent riders, forgetting to validate a ticket before you ride the train is more common. Why are they getting punished with a class 4 misdemeanor on their record? Have you thought of doing a penalty instead of a court summons? That way the money goes to the VRE and NOT the state or city of Alexandria. Also why can't conductors validate the tickets on the train? It's done on other train services (that have higher ridership as well) using a hole punch? I don't think that "budget constraints" is an appropriate answer.

    VRE Response
A monthly ticket is automatically validated at the time of purchase and is good for the entire calendar month.  Waivers are offered only if the monthly ticket holder can provide proof the purchase was made prior to being issued a summons.  The number of waivers is limited to minimize serial abuse of the privilege.  Summonses for other passengers are for either failure to validate, riding out of zone, or not having a ticket at all and those summonses are issued in accordance with state law.

Our tickets are electronic and magnetic striped.  The ticket value is encoded on the mag stripe, so a manual validation with a hole punch does not work.

  • DP from Fredericksburg asks
Scenario- You took an Amtrak train with a VRE step up. If VRE trains, before and after, were more than 30 min late, can you claim FRC in that situation?

    VRE Response
FRC's are offered to those passengers who were actually delayed.  If by utilizing the VRE subsidized Amtrak Step-Up program you were able to complete your travel, then our policy is to not issue an FRC.

  • ED from Broad Run asks
Has VRE considered adding charging stations for electric cars to the parking lots?

    VRE Response
Great question Ed. We will look into this.

  • Dena from Spotsy VA asks
Why cant you offer one train on these soft holidays that non-government workers do not get? Don't we pay enough for the service, that we should not have to fork out extra money for another form of transpo on those days?

    VRE Response
Dena, we have tested operating on soft holidays and the ridership levels do not support that operation.  We will continue to explore options for the soft holidays.

  • SS from Manassas, VA asks
I usually have to stand up most days on the way home on the Manassas train. So I am wondering if there is a plan to add more trains in the future, especially if a new station is built. Thanks!

    VRE Response
Thanks SS, we do not have any short-term plans to add trains on the Manassas Line, however, we do monitor ridership by train to make sure the train which carries the most passengers has the most cars.  Ridership trends change seasonally, so now that we are in the Fall, we'll see if any changes need to occur.

  • JP from Woodbridge VA asks
What's the policy on Conductor's handing out FRCs? On Monday, on train 300, the Conductor appeared to only hand out FRCs to some passengers. Not to all passengers. I got on at Woodbridge and took a seat on the upper level. Conductor never walked up to upper level to hand out FRCs. Train arrived at Union station 1 1/4 hours late. I had to track down the Conductor as train approached Union Station and request an FRC.

    VRE Response
JP, everyone on the train should have been offered and FRC due to the delays.  We know some passengers who would have been on later trains, were not actually delayed, but since we cannot differentiate those who were actually delayed and those who were not, we offer FRC's to everyone.

  • Janet from Spotsylvania asks
At the Spotsylvania station there appears to be an issue with water coming into the building. Standing water in that building is in the rest room and the waiting room and it all takes a very long time to dry up. Is this problem being addressed? It is a danger to the patrons wishing to use the facilities or seeking shelter.

    VRE Response
Thanks Janet, we'll have our Facilities Manager check this out.  It may be the cleaners who mop the floors on a daily basis simply leaving the floors too wet for quick drying.  We'll get it addressed.

Good morning and thank you for joining us for our monthly Online Forum where VRE Senior Operations Management, Rich Dalton, Deputy CEO/COO and Chris Henry, Director of Rail Operations, answer your service related questions for the next hour.

With that said, we appreciate your patience during the service disruptions earlier this week. VRE and its stakeholders always conduct an after action review in order to mitigiate similiar delays in the future. Always know that our first priority is to get you to your destination safely and will not compromise that even though it may cause more inconvenience.

Also, thank you for completing our Master Agreement Survey this morning on the trains. This survey determines how many riders come from each jurisdiction and how much each member jurisdiction contributes to the VRE system.

Now onto the questions!
