COVID-19 Updates

An industry leader in pandemic response, the Virginia Railway Express was an early implementor of measures designed to protect the health and safety of passengers. These measures include an enhanced cleaning regimen, installation of social-distancing decals and hand-sanitizer dispensers on rail cars and platforms, and a facial covering requirement. VRE’s 3-D train tour lets viewers step from the platform onto a rail car and familiarize themselves with the precautions now in place. The train utilization web page helps riders find a train that best matches their social-distance comfort level. Additional information for riders is available through vre.org.

This webpage, which details VRE’s pandemic response, contains information and images for use by journalists, researchers, academicians, and others. When using text or images from this page, please give credit to VRE (i.e.“courtesy of VRE").
